Safe use and management is an important part of grinding machinery, including a series of tasks such as the installation, transportation, and storage of grinding wheels. Negligence in any link will bury safety hazards for grinding machinery. Here's how to check and install:

1. Grinding wheel inspection: Grinding wheels must undergo strict inspection before installation and use, and grinding wheels with defects such as cracks are absolutely not allowed to be installed and used.

(1) Inspection of grinding wheel marks. Grinding wheels that are not marked or are not clearly marked, and the characteristics of the grinding wheel cannot be checked and confirmed, regardless of whether they are defective, should not be used.

(2) Inspection of grinding wheel defects. The inspection methods are visual inspection and audio inspection:

a. Visual inspection is to check whether there are cracks or damages on the surface of the grinding wheel directly with the naked eye or with the help of other instruments.

b. Acoustic inspection is also called percussion test, which is mainly aimed at the internal defects of the grinding wheel. The inspection method is to knock the grinding wheel with a small wooden hammer. The sound of the normal grinding wheel is crisp, and the sound is dull and hoarse, indicating that there is a problem.

(3) Inspection of the rotational strength of the grinding wheel. A batch of grinding wheels of the same type should be randomly tested for rotational strength, and batches of grinding wheels that have not been tested for strength are strictly prohibited from being installed and used.

  2. Grinding wheel installation

(1) Check whether the characteristics of the grinding wheel meet the requirements for use, and whether the size of the grinding wheel matches the spindle.

(2) A certain thickness of flexible material pad (such as asbestos rubber sheet, elastic thick cardboard or leather, etc.) should be clamped between the chuck and the end face of the grinding wheel to make the clamping force of the chuck evenly distributed.

(3) Assemble the grinding wheel on the grinding wheel spindle freely without squeezing it; the matching clearance between the inner diameter of the grinding wheel, the spindle and the chuck is appropriate, and avoid being too large or too small. The mating surface is clean and free of debris.

(4) The chuck of the grinding wheel should be left and right symmetrical, and the radial width of the pressing surface should be equal; the pressing surface should be straight, fully in contact with the side of the grinding wheel, and the clamping should be firm, preventing the two sides of the grinding wheel from being deformed or even broken due to unbalanced forces. crack.

(5) The tightness of the fastened grinding wheel should be tight enough to drive the grinding wheel without slipping, and it should not be too tight; when using multiple bolts to fasten the large chuck, it should be rotated evenly in pairs in diagonal order. It is forbidden to tighten the bolts sequentially in the circumferential direction, or to tighten a certain bolt at a time. Only a standard wrench can be used to fasten the grinding wheel chuck, and it is forbidden to use an extension wrench or tap to increase the tightening force.
